When professional actress Sherry Jo Ward was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare degenerative disease that slowly inhibits mobility, she turned to theatre to tell her story. Funny yet vulnerable, STIFF offers a poignant experience for all audiences.

MEET THE PLAYWRIGHT
Sherry Jo Ward is a professional theatre artist, seen in acclaimed plays including International Falls and August, Osage County (WaterTower Theatre), Precious Little (Echo Theatre), Mary Stuart (Walking Shadow Theatre), Henry V (Abilene Shakespeare Festival), and A Christmas Carol (Ryman Auditorium), as well as premiering Scripted and Ham and Moon on Rye (Actors Theatre of Louisville, KY). Her screen credits include Endings, In the Middle, and Hulu’s Monsterland, in which she plays a mother who, like Sherry, uses a wheelchair and is a stroke survivor. She has a BA in Theatre from Abilene Christian University and MFA from University of Alabama/Alabama Shakespeare Festival. This will be Sherry’s final run of the award-winning STIFF. Many thanks to actor husband Thomas and their sons Chris and Adam. Stiff was originally produced by Risk Theater Initiative, directed by Marianne Galloway.
